### Projekt Q04: Thesis-Dokumentation & Themenvergabe
### EOC News: Verpflichtendes Bias- & Machtmissbrauch-Training
World Meeting der International Society for Research on Aggression (ISRA) in St. Catharines (Kanada) mit dem **Kirsti Lagerspetz Award** ausgezeichnet. Ihr prämierter Vortrag trug den Titel: *„How Context and Alcohol Risk Shape Sex Differences in Aggression“*. Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu diesem internationalen Erfolg!
### Fast Forward Science 2026: „Angry Brains“ im Finale

### Reminder: Cognitive Control System Theme Day

When a heading is used as the first line in an article, it renders the thumbnail incorrectly in the "Latest Updates" section at the bottom of the main website's homepage (i.e., the thumbnail image gets split into a different "box" from the article date/title/preview text).

We tried fixing the formatting to prevent this, but it turns out it's not as simple as that. For a quick fix, could you please add a summary sentence (in normal text) before the "Reminder: Cognitive Control System Theme Day" heading that briefly includes the main points that are discussed in the article?

Please note this applies for past news announcements as well (e.g., June 2026, April 2026, etc.).

Participating researchers are kindly requested to prepare their scientific contributions and paradigm spotlights according to the event schedule.
### Call for Subproject Videos (Website & Social Media): Guidelines & Deadlines
Our internal social media team is producing introduction videos for the website and social media across all subprojects. The technical handbook and checklist were distributed via email and can also be downloaded below.
**Key Deadlines & Action Items:**
* **ASAP:** Provide your postal address for the teaser envelope (to be opened on camera) and confirm whether you would like a participant recruitment appeal included in your video or social media release.
* **October 15, 2026 (Strict Deadline):** Submit your video material via WeTransfer (set to 3-day expiry, clearly labeled clips) to [yasmin.molls379@gmail.com](mailto:yasmin.molls379@gmail.com).
* **October 30, 2026:** Final deadline for implementing editorial feedback and retakes.
*Haven't received the briefing email with the handbook for your project?* Please contact Tim Seyrek directly at [tseyrek@ukaachen.de](mailto:tseyrek@ukaachen.de).
📥 **[Download: Technical Manual for Video Production for Angry Brains (PDF)](Technical%20Manual%20for%20Video%20Production%20for%20Angry%20Brains.pdf)**
### Knowledge Pooling Tool & Digital Hub Documentation
The documentation for our knowledge pooling tool and digital infrastructure hub has been updated at **[docs.trr379.de](https://docs.trr379.de/)**. Usage is mandatory across all projects, particularly for uploading dataset information required for the DFG survey.
If anything in the manual is unclear, please send your feedback directly to [tseyrek@ukaachen.de](mailto:tseyrek@ukaachen.de) so we can continually adapt and improve the documentation.
### Project Q04: Thesis Documentation & Registration
Members of project Q04 are requested to upload thesis topics to GitLab under: **TRR379 / Area Q Projects / Q04 / theses_documentation**. Please read the repository `README.md` for instructions on filling out and referencing the registration form.
### EOC News: Mandatory Bias & Power Abuse Training
Results from our previous newsletter questionnaire clearly demonstrated how important these issues are to the members of our consortium. In direct response, the Equal Opportunity Committee announces upcoming mandatory training sessions on **Unconscious Bias and Power Abuse Prevention**.
Two separate versions will be provided: one tailored for PIs and one for early career researchers and staff. **Please complete your registration within the next three weeks.**
